B7 A4 - FWD vs Quattro
I ended up in a ditch because of my fwd. Theres an old 5th gear episode that compares the 3 different drivetrain types. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9TJecSuwIY
there are also many front wheel drive cars with torque steer, ive never had a problem with that on my car, which was something i was worried about when i was looking into audis.

Torque steer I actually find somewhat entertaining and a fun challlenge.
But sorry, Quattro is great for applying power in low grip situations but it has nothing to do with "sharper" or more "accurate" handling when entering a corner.
Also, there are lots and lots of FWD cars that will outhandle a A4/S4 around most auto-x courses and just in general.
If you ever drive a MINI S or Integra Type R or Civic Si, you'll see that FWD cars can have far far better handling than a luxo-barge Audi.
Don't get me wrong, between having Quattro and not having Quattro, I'd rather have Quattro if it was the same car (identical price, color, options) but at the same time, I've been thinking that living in Socal, I'm never really going to need quattro.
I also already own a 2007 Z4 3.0 so it's not like I need a "fun" car. Quattro in my situation just adds weight, complexity, and less MPG. I just need a somewhat stylish, comfortable luxo cruiser for my 20k mi a year commute.
If on the other hand my main goal was to add power to an Audi, yeah Quattro all the way. Still, if that was my main goal, I'd start with an EVO or even an STi, not a Audi.
