Default bad alternator but not sure

well I woke up this morning to go to work and damn car would not start. This has happened before but ithink it was just because i left the radar detecter in and it drained the battery. Well I charged the battery today and instead or starting up i heard a fast clicking sound and it wont start. I read somewhere about hitting the silonoid because it might be stuck. Any1 have any suggestions on what to do and where is the silonoid. thanks

The solenoid is on the starter... However, since you are clicking, I'd think it was good. How dead was the batt? If it was too drained, it will never hold a good charge, ie: enough to run the electronics, but not the starter.

batt is at 9.5 volts, not sure if thats good enough to run the starter. Is there a difference if its just one click or non stop clicking when trying to start? The connection to battery is good and the ground is also good.

Dont think 9.5v will do it.. need to be closer to 11.0v. If your at 9.5 now, the starter will prolly drop it closer to 7v trying to start. Time to swap batts.
