Bad Gas Mileage??
Well, I'm not sure if it's bad or if it's normal, but I thought I was supposed to be getting around 30mpg on my 01 1.8T A4. I mostly do city driving in Atlanta and I'm getting about 20-22mpg. I have had my 40K service and my throttle body cleaned, but my car just can't seem to get great gas mileage. Can you guys tell me what kind of mileage your getting on your B5's?
Thank you,
GJ

Man... I can't believe we're not getting better mileage. I just don't understand why they claim these cars get great mileage if they really don't get it in realistic driving conditions. I'd really like to see what kind of mileage everyone else is getting.
old/fouled spark plugs can cause bad mileage, as can a bad O2 sensor...
I get around 26-29 on the highway, and about 23-25 in city driving.
That is in line with what Audi has specified for the car - they never claimed that the A4 gets great mileage.
