My vac hose wasn't connected when i got the car. so if the DV vac line in supposed to connect to the fitting under the intake manifold, what is supposed to connect to the fitting on the top/front of the intake manifold?

Thats a good ****** question. I tried to trace it back to wherever it goes, i dont think its the wastegate though. All I know is thats where I spliced my boost gauge line into.

Have you pulled the turbo off yet?
To check things like the wastegate actuator, the actuator rod, inspect the turbine fins, etc.

I dont have a problem with that, but it was already speculated a few times, so you really aren't adding any useful info for the poster by repeating it. If you have more detailed info that hasn't already been covered, please post it.
No problem, it just seemed a little redundant.

I'm pretty sure you can't replace the wastegate. You're gonna need a whole new turbo if the wastegate itself is bad. If only the actuator is causing problem, you can replace that, though.
