Hey all, got a question
My alternator belt shredded. I replaced it, then car wouldn't start up. Probably from driving it home with no belt. Got the car started and everything was good. Shut it back off and battery was dead. I bought a new battery and stuck it in. Drove to town and back and it's dead again. If I jump start the car it will stay running. Can drive it anywhere. However the battery will not charge. I can unhook the battery after its started and it will still stay running. I'm kinda puzzled. Any help would be appreciated. And before the belt broke, it was fine.

Battery light on while driving?

If not I doubt it's your charging system.

Measure voltage at battery terminals while engine running, if over 12.5, it's charging and I'd start looking other places for the problem
