well what ive been doing everynight is unhooking the battery and if i do this the battery is fine to start the next morning. but if i leave it hooked up the just gets drained. How do i check for a bad starter solenoid? imma go get the battery test on Wedesday too.

most likely probably a short. vag com can pick it up i think. otherwise, you can have fun checking every wire behind the dash and the engine bay lol

If it's fine when you disconnect the battery overnight, then it's probably not the battery. bring the starter in somewhere where they can bench test it, like AutoZone. That's how I found out my starter solenoid in the VW went bad. I replaced the starter and had no trouble with it to the day I sold that car.
