I hate to say it, but i think this mod is starting to turn me off. I have noticed that while throtle response is better, i have to puch down harder on the gas to get the power i had before the mod. Its hard to explain.. Like when i press the gas, it responds quicker than before, but once it gets going i have to use more pedal effort with the gas to get the boost... Boosting doesnt seem as consistant or come on as smooth as before. The DV/turbo noise and the way it changes the tone is cool, but im starting to think i prefer a more stealthy/quiet sound. I cant make up my mind though. I havent calculated it yet, but it seems my gas mileage is suffering too. Dont get me wrong, its still a great mod and im still a fan of it, i am just having some doubts at this time.
Anyone have a stock air box they wanna get rid of just incase i decide to go back?

 

thats why i bought an extra box incase i changed my mind.. i know what your saying about loosing a little low - end punch... that happens with any aftermarket intake system.. i couldnt comment on gas mileage.. its always sucked w/ my heavy foot.. i got real crappy gas mileage this last time around.. but thats because i spent all day yesterday racing up and down making videos..

 

Onepoint8tee do you have a K&N? I don't know about your milage but mine seems fine even tho it was never good [&o]

No i dont have a k&n.. and by the way this proves the point i was trying to make multiple times in multiple threads about intake setups taking away from down low which a couple people refused to believe or agree with. How much did you pay for your extra air box a4thequattro? Does yours have secondary air injection?

 

i bought it off a guy from audizine for $40 .. check the for sale forums over there... open air intakes always loose a little low end punch.. thats the nature of the beast..

 

If you wanted to go back to normal, would you really need a new airbox? Couldn't you just cover up the holes with a piece of sheet metal or something of the sort?

 

LOL - I am keeping it here til I have a chance to get a polished version into the DIY section. I have been pretty busy this week.
