Once I get my clutch figured out (see post earlier today) I'm going to do something about the crappy headlights I have. I don't think I'm ready to upgrade to HID/Xeon quite yet (I'm still a lot confused with all of that) but I want to get brighter halogens which are easy to install and cheap, and, so I'm told, effective...?

Here's what I'm thinking first: replace the standard fog lights with Sylvania H1ST Silverstar High Performance halogens.

Now I need your expert opinion on what I should do for the main headlights. The high and low beams are the same halogen bulb, am I correct? Sticking with Sylvania, what would you put in:

- H7ST Silverstar High Performance Halogens, described as "the whitest and brightest Halogen"

or

- H7CB Cool Blue Halogen Upgrade, described as "White Hot; Super Cool; 100% Street Legal"

Which look better and which are brighter? Or are there other halogen replacements that I should look at?

 

the silverstar's are the best lights that slyvania makes. I had them in my old car and was quite happy with them

 

i have the silverstars....but they're ehh on their own...but wiht my yello fogs they make a nice diff....

I had a pair of them and they are great. When you buy a HID kit it is much more complicated to install as well.

 

I'm thinking that I'm going to put in OSRAM - Silverstar +50% for my brights and Sylvania Silverstar +30% for my low-beams... what do you think?

I'm doing that becuase I found that the Sylvania have the blue-ish tint to them... thought that would look cool...

 

THEY ARE NOT HARD TO INSTALL IF YOU GO ONEBAY AND BUY A $300 universal kit the will plug right into the appilcation that you tell them you have for I.E - if you have H7 you tell the seller that you have H7 headlights he then will send you a HID kit for teh h7 all you have to do is plug it in and turn on ez as that so if it is for you audi a4 then you need H7 HID. I have a set they are good lights the install was ez took 10mins cause you have to take out the pins that hold the HID in there then then put it back on over it that was the toughtest thing to do if i were you i would get HID they make any car apperance look so much better than that stock **** yellow look there is nothing wrong with the silver stars but i would just go ahead and spend the money on some HID

 

I'm actually thinkng i'm going to replace the whole headlights with the S4 european projector style and do HIDs from there..but not going to do that for at least a year.. I wanted to use the halogens for now...

 

the euro ones are H7 also so you can buy HID now and put them in when you get those eURO SPECS
