Alright so I decided to get my computer flashed/chiped... now... can they flash a 99 1.8t? What is the best place to get it flashed? Cheapest place? Who did you go thru, How were they? Turn around time? Any help is appriciated, thanks!

Id say find a tuner in your area, and a 99 has to have a chip soldered in

 

As above. Chekc out the GIAC main site and they have a list of tuners. Your car will have to have a new chip soldered in.

 

Every GIAC authorized dealer will have the same chips and have the same turnaround time. Your car isn't flashable, so they have to solder. Check with your local dealer.

 

Best price I can find is $400, anyone seen a better price out there? I figure miswell try to get the cheapest price as its all the same software right?

 

Thasts the price for the solder, be glad its not a flash or itd be more like $500. Tuners arent alowed to jack up the price, so price shopping wont do any good.. Just find the closest tuner who is a giac dealer, or send your ecu out to whoever is closest.

 

Yeah just make sure to do it close by. You will have to get your ECU sent away so you may have to ride your bike over to their shop and pick it up.

The one in ohio wants $495 there is one in indiana that is $400, I'll wait the extra day.
