Which is better for reliability, gas mileage, maintence and etc??
I am looking to get an AUDI A4 as my daily driver, and I have the option of getting a 1.8T or 2.8 V6. Either choice will be manual, high mileage. The car will be used in Rochester, NY (snows alot and mad cold) and sitting outside. So I need help in deciding which of the motor choices is the better one as far as maintence costs, oil changes, gas mileage, reliability etc.
as for gas milage the 1.8 will do alot better than the 2.8. and for reliablility, so long as you leave the engine alown, they are both very reliable cars. Although the 2.8 is supposedly better.
agreed, for reliability defenity go the 2.8 route, for modifying, go with the 1.8T.
There isn't a lot out there for the 2.8, so you're best bet would be to get the 30V as its a little quicker and has more aftermarket support if you swore by the v6 and had to have it.
My 12V is rounding 181k now, and I've only had some minor issues with the suspension (damn control arms) and I broke a rear CV shaft (it was my fault, I beat the hell out of it) and both flex pipes broke (no big deal though).
I get between 16-21 mpg.
