Higher Mileage 2.7T - Reliability issues?
Im looking into getting a 2000 A6 2.7T Quattro AWD with 93k miles, clean carfax, $12,990. My only question is, how would the reliability be on this car if its been well maintained up to this point. I will see if the timing belt has been replaced, if not, use that as a barganing chip...Are there any other major things i need to worry about or look into with this year/model Audi? What are some things I may need to replace in the near future?
Any help would be great, thanks!

will it's a bit-turbo and those will have to go at some point. If you know how to shop you can get almost-new turbos at a very affordable price to replace them with.
I would say the price is nice though and the car is awesome esp. with chip. It doesn't seem like there are a whole lot of A6 owners to answer questions when you have them though, which is a drawback when trying to save a nickel on maintanence.

Renegades - Try www.audiworld.com. They're are loads of Audi owners that provide tons of invaluable info. The tech section alone has lots of great info. Combine that with the search function for the forums and you can get an answer to damn near any question you might have.
ckandes1 - I have a 2000 2.7T with 6sp manual. I LOVE it! As Renegades says, keep the turbos in mind, and remember - it was a $45K car new and costs like that kind of car to maintain. If it was well taken care of, and you can do some stuff yourself, I think these cars are an outstanding buy.

That was very reassuring. At first I was quite hesitant with the reliability on these cars, but its nice to know they'll last if well taken care of. The A6 im looking at right now was just reduced by $1000 so I may be lookin at a deal..
Thanks again for the help!

RE: Higher Mileage 2.7T - Reliability issues?
Just heard back from the dealer. They say the reccords show that at around 70k miles the water pump and timing belt were both replace. So both of those parts have about 20k miles on them. With all that being done, and with the price comming down to now $11,990 it sounds like this is a pretty good deal. What do you all think?
Thanks for the help
