S4 calipers won't fit on the b5. The carriers don't align with the hubs.

Save your money, unless you are taking your car to the track. Lets look a the physics of braking.

All brakes on modern carswill easily lock up the wheelsand activate the ABS. Thus, the braking distance of the car is limited not by the brake shoes and calipers, but by the friction between the tires and the road. In regular braking, big brakes wont shorten your stopping distance as it is not the brakes that are the weak point, it is the tires. If you are tracking your car, big brakes will dissipate more heat and will prevent brake fading with repeated use without time for the rotors to cool down. This rarely happens outside of racing.

porsche brakes take special carriers that you can only get from ecstuning. You will also need 17" wheels are larger to run them.
PureMS sells them as well for over $200 less than ECS.

keep in mind too that the porsche calipers are proportioned for a porsche (meaning rear engine, rear drive) i think the ecs or purems kits are great for the $ for looks but i would look into a stoptech/brembo/alcon if u are going to sink in the $ for the porsche kit... a stoptech kit wouldnt be a whole lot more.. some places will cut u a deal if u call around and there are usually a lot of specials around christmas...

but the a8 upgrades (4 b5s) or s4 upgrades for me and my b6are great for the $ as well... much less than a grand.. do some stainless lines and motul 5.1 or rbf fluid depending if u track at all and u will be pleased with the results for the $

oh and ecs did have problems with their mounting brackets breaking at one time...

are you high again? the brakes will still be the same if you go for the porsche kit or a stoptech kit.

No wonder no one comes over here...everyone is so sick of your ****... and no ive never been high in my life.......unfortunately

ECS Stage II Version II Big Brake Kit ES#5572
Black Porsche Calipers & Slotted/Cross-Drilled, Zinc or Cadmium Plated Rotors
$1549.95

Front 13" brake kit with ST-40 4-piston calipers, floating 332mm x 32mm rotors, stainless steel braided brake lines, and Axxis ULT high performance street pads

$2195
83-112-4600

this is what i found with a quick search! i didnt shop around and in my first post i said clearly***********************
you can get a stoptech kit for not much more than the ECS porsche kit IF you shop around****************

.

however from my search we can EASILY see $600 price difference.... now although that might not be much $ to u... thats a big difference to me

so please go eat a pistol [sm=shootshoot.gif]and stop being so hateful to everyone

you can easily correct people and offer your own insight without being so malevolant about it

I said something about the cost difference in my first post a long time ago about when jeff told him to get some alcon/stoptech brakes. I mentioned that those are both in the $2k price range then and never had any relevance in what i replied about what you said.

The only thing I singled out in yourpost was about the porsche brakes changing how the brakes are going to work since they are from a rear engine rear wheel drive car. Im sorry if you took it as hurtful but it wasnt relevant and was linked into your post from last night that made 0 sense (in the gt28r or rs thread i believe)

AND YES $600 is a huge difference in cost to me. The link BaconBit posted has them for $1150 BTW.

how will the brakes be the same? porsche uses calipers proportioned for a porsche, not an audi which is a completely different car and it doesnt take a genius to see the key differences in the two

oh and the calipers are off a boxer! what a POS... the only mass produced porsche designed for a wanna be porsche driver who cant afford a carrera or caymen

my stage 1+ will out run, outhandle and outbrake a POS boxer with my current mods, not to mention a boxer doesnt like being over 110 mph (at least the convertible)

how do i know this? ive owned a 02 carrera six speed convertible.. my best friend has a boxer convertible we raced on my runway and i currently have a cayenne turbo

Porsche- 1. RWD 2. Rear engine 3. High Performance sports car for 2 people maybe 2 normal size and two small in the back of a carrera

AUDI - 1. AWD 2. Front engine 3. four door 4. designed for luxury/ 4 people

now dont u think the FAMOUS porsche spends time on R&D for theirbraking biasand considers all these things? i think they do

stoptech calipers are proportioned for each vehicle using different size pistons

and they are certainly not the same price? if your link has them for $1100 then its a huge difference! however ive seen people get stoptech kits under $2k by calling around...

get whatever braking kit is right for what u use it for and what your budget is! if its looks, get the porsche for $1100, thats a great deal (if it includes rotors, pads, lines and carriers)

if u are serious about braking, at least get stoptech but the OEM upgrades are great too if u arent looking to spend that kinda $... i currently have the ECS 3.0 with crossdrilled/slotted rotors but in hindsight i wished i had spent the extra $ and got the stoptech.... live and learn!

its hard to justify but just remember it is your brakes!
