Yes... stick with the 205's... 215's might be OK, but dont get any crazier then that. Make the move to 17's after you lower it, if you lower your car properly, you'll have a very capable car on your hands! My old VR6 GTI was lowered, eibach springs, bilstein shocks, done right... and it was like a go-cart.

 

235/50/16's on my car same outside diamiter as stock. Looks fine not any taller than stock. but a hell of alot wider. handles nicer.
