i blew my motor i had a 96 2.8 Q.... now i want to know what engine i can put in its place.. i wanted a turbo in the first place so would a 1.8 or an s4 engine fit in this car and i obviously have to change the wiring harness right???? fi the swap can be done

 

Either rebuild the engine,replace with what you had, or have it totalled. Then sell it for a differnt car if you dont want a 12V

 

so i have to stick with the 2.8 cant get any other engine?

 

yeah, the swap is not worth doing, just get the car you want.

 

You maybe able to swap in a 30v with some effort, but still not worth it. The only thing worth the effort is a 12v vr6 engine swap from a gti. But thats still going to cost in the $7-8k range.

The 3 options i gave are all in your best interest

It's probably not something you can do on your own. If I was you, I'd just total the '96 and use the insurance check as a down payment on a 1.8T or an S4.

 

buy another 12v motor for 1K and install, then sell your car and get a 1.8T or a 30V....gl!

 

well if this thing is gunna haul *** and the price is reasonable i do to mine what this dude did to his i can have someone do it fro me meaning instal it for really cheap possibly free but just wanna know how much doing all this is gunna cost like the redoing the mounts the engine cost that crap and what does just a plain VR6 have hp wise

 

stop... dont bother... please dont keep this thread going. just get a new car or put stock motor in. then either sell it or act as u did before you blew your motor.
