hi, i've got an 06 a4 and i'm trying to figure out if it has bluetooth and how it works. i have homelink which led me to believe i had bluetooth as they're part of the TECH package, correct? according to the manual i turn the ignition on, turn on the bluetooth device and the device will see the audi. i haven't gotten it to work, it sees nothing. any thoughts? thanks...

 

Just picked an 06 up myself.

From what I can tell if you have a post sept05 build with Tech package it includes BT, prior to that the Tech package doesn't include BT.

 

i guess the first ?'s are:

does having HOMELINK mean that you have the TECH package?

does having the TECH package mean that i have BLUETOOTH?

if both are a YES then:

why can't i see AUDIXXXXXX show up with bluetooth on my iphone?

No, is the answer to both. Home link is included is most of audi's add on packages. Secondly if you do have the tech package, check the build date, as bluetooth was only included in the package for the 2006.5 models, so if your build date was before septemer of 05, then you will not have bluetooth despite having the tech package.

 

i'm having the same problem. the manual is kind of misleading--i believe there must be a specific phone craddle installed in order for the phone to be operated within the car. i've tried turning the ignit- and bluetooth search and have not had any positive results.

 

so, if i don't have bluetooth and don't want to do the cradle, do i have an option to add bluetooth? thanks again...

 

i think so. I am pretty sure the dealer can add it on with the propare " module" or control unit. I am sure you are also going to have the pay the dealer premium for it. give this a whirl. it is direct from Audi USA regarding the use of your iphone, it seems it may only work with the newer generation. http://www.audiusa.com/etc/medialib/....0023.File.pdf
