Hey bhasz nice sig. If you honestly can adjust timing with it (because it will be necessary) and you can adjust the air fuel ratio with it, know how to install it, and know or know of someone who can tune it, I would think it would work. The reason you want a different standalone system or a chip is because the microprocessors in 034 or in a factory ecu are much faster. With that being said your boost level would depend on many factors like intake charge temp, air rate (bigger turbos flow more air I assume you know this since you have a dtec) and supporting mods that help cool the turbo and intake temp. Better to ask what hp can the motor handle,a stock 1.8t can handle 350hp reliably and I believe that is at the wheels. With the ko3 I haven't heard of anyone running them higher than 22 psi on a street tune. Roughly 9 hp per pound of boost gainedwith a ko3 (so I hear).

but im not going to way up my boost, im just gonna go with like 12 psi, and the dtec will be a safe way to regulate the fuel and i can adjust timing and everything, its a good thing,

If your paying to have it installed and tuned go for 17 pounds of boost and report dyno #'s back so we can compare the quality of the tune to a know standard and would have a better chance of helping with any drivablility issues. I don't recommend using it but it's your car and it sounds like you want to do it right with what you already have. The reason I don't recommend using dtec is because every dsm owner I know blew up their car last summer and all of them were using dtec. I know a guy with a gt35r evo and fryed a piston and thinks an injector stuck for a millisecond. I know a talon owner that blew up the last 2 talons he owned (in 2 years) using dtec. It could have been bad tunes but these guys know their **** and I believe it is the processor in the dtec unit. I think it would be cool to see you sucseed and run good #'s or even better than the chipped cars. I wish you the best of luck, be sure to post some #'s.

It would be good to control spiking, electronic would be more tunable with a piggyback like a dtec though.
