Boost gauge ?
because it would not fit here...
lots of people do, but you canot customize a laptop the way you can a made-to-fit system. Nor can you use an automotive specific DC-DC power supply (you need an inverter). Not to mention the sound quality coming from the average laptop sucks *** when sent to amplifiers. Thats not to say people haven't used laptops - I know a couple systems that work great with laptops.

anyways - to get back on topic, Dave I would not buy any thing that you can't easily do yourself for 10% of the cost.

where did I find it? I pieced it together and built it all.
The costs in just the parts I guess was close to a $1500 including all the new front and rear speakers and subwoofer.
