Default boost gauge

I bought the steering column boost gauge for my 2001 1.8t. I have searched and can't find a diy for the steering column, if someone could help it would be much appreciated.

i got a steering comlumb gauge. i what do you need to know about it. It's pretty easy to install. The pod itself just sits ontop of the original columb and slides under the acordian piece(assuming you have the same one as me) then to wire it i spliced the power wires into the fuse box( i spliced it into the fuse for the parking lights so it would turn on with the first click of the lights) then for the ground i backed out a bolt and attatched it to it. to. I can get you some pics and do a better write up if you need it just let me know

I was just wondering where you ran the line to hook up to get the boost. If you take the steering column off is there a way to run the line thru there? Anything would help, I'm new to this and don't want to mess things up.

Thanks

i have the same pod but a diff guage. To run the tubing, i slid it back down the steering columb(above the actual columb but under the pod) and under the dash. Then when you take all the lower kick panels off, look at the fire wall( i think it was right behind the clutch) and there should be a little rubber gromet. on the outside of the car you need to pull back you driver slide wheel liner(the black plastic thing)and you should see 6 little rubber prongy things sticking out. Find one that is about the same size as your tube and cut the tip off. Then slide your line through it and lead it to the engine bay. I zip tied my line to the metal( i think there brake lines cant remeber) lines so it would not get caught on any thing. Then i took the t and put it into the line comming off the manifold( the one closest to the front of the car). If this is still confusing i can get you some pics but it will have to be later today( like 4 ish)

If you have pics that would be great, but if you don't than don't worry about it I should be able to figure it out, thanks though.

So why did you go with the steering column gauge vs ths center vent? Do you like the way it came out?

Personally, I thought the center vent gauge was to far out of view of the driver.
