Default boost gauge question

On my newly installed vent mount boost gauge at idle the needle stays at the zero, when i drive it moves up to whatever psi (buzzes though n shakes), but my question is that shouldnt this thing be reading the vacuum at idle and/or while slow driving? I'm still new to the audi world n this closed loop turbo system. I had the gauge profesionally put in but have been working all week and havent had a min to stop down there. Please help me out!!! (its an 07 2.0t)

IF your guage has vacuum and you are not reading vacuum in the gauge, your tapped in pre-intake manifold. You need a source after the throttle body. I would move the vac source to the FPR and go ask for some of my money back from this "professional"

No need to go back, just find the T he used for the boost guage and move it. Should look like this.

Only thing differnt is yours is on the back right side of the engine. To find the hose for the boost guage, look for a vacuum line coming out of the firewall. Should be on the drivers side.

To the vacuum line for the FPR like in the pic above. The clear hose is the boost controller line with a white tee. This is the easiest place to run it.
