Default boost leak?

yesterday my cel came on.... no clue why... then today i had the windows down and noticed while accelerating in 1st-3rd i'm getting a high pitched almost whistle sound... (not turbo spool). wondering if i have a boost leak and its running rich which tripped the cel.

well i was just ouut lookin at it, and the vac line from intake manifold to diverter valve was cracked/ broken off right at the diverter valve. so i went down to napa and got a new piece of line and two clamps, put it on... still getting the whistle sound....

any way to check the code with out a vagcom? the cel is still on... is there a way to reset?

You can get rid of the CEL by disconnecting the battery for like half an hour... make sure that when you reconnect the battery, you turn the key to the accessory position and leave it there for a couple minutes... let the car do the throttle body allignment.

took the positive off for 40mins.... cel is still there

i checked all the clamps from the turbo to the intake... all tight... dont know what to do now...

i cant believe its a boost leak because it seems to have the same if not more power than ever (more power could be from the diverter valve not working) but now that that is hooked back up power seems to be more still.

sorry I'm going to jack this thread.

Jeff,
Do you have that t3 on the a4 what are the specs on it. I bet you're making some nice numbers, because most t3/t4's are nicely sized for the 1.8. I made 311 HP on my old civic (just don't, i know it's comming).
