Default Bought a swaybar!

New 19mm adjustable Neuspeed Rear Anti-Sway Bar #25.02.19.4....sold for $205 + shipping

It should show up on Wed/Thursday. I'm stoooooked. I've got 2 days at Watkins Glen on Aug. 28-29, and everyone says the difference will be huge. Can't wait!

That means I should have about 2-3 days to install it. I know it just bolts on...is the install pretty straight-forward? (I'm not the most mechanically-inclined person). I hear the reinforcement brackets are a pain...

No real questions I guess....any install tips or feedback on how my car is going to respond on the track would be cool. I'll post some pics and feedback once I get it bolted on.

So the swaybar should be showing up tomorrow or Thursday, and I've been reading up on the install...

The big question: Do I need to upgrade to metal endlinks?? Is it OK to run the OEM ones at the track in 5 days? I dunno if I can get the metals ones shipped and installed before

Oh, and is it true all their bolts are in 1/2inch, not metric?

Woooord, thanks.

The metal endlinks should work well enough.

You've inspired me to get a rear bar too. I have an S4 one coming soon.

WoodE, I'm pretty sure the B5 S4 swaybar is 16mm...same one that comes with the stock sport packages. They're pretty cheap too, and should be an improvement if you're non-sport. I'm sure you'll be able to find a used one in the classifieds.

Just so I'm clear...I searched AW, and there was a post about using the "stock plastic swaybar links" with a 19mm Neuspeed. Everyone said the plastic ones will break, and they should be upgraded to metal ones from ECS or PureMS (about $60 for the set).

http://www.purems.com/products/product.php/II=969

I haven't researched my current setup as much as I should've....are my current links plastic, or does the sport package come with metal links?? I just don't want this thing destroying my subframe on my first run at Watkins Glen!

i say that you'd be ok for just a track day, but get those metal ones as fast as you can

Haha, back from the dead!

As an update: I bought a set of metal links from some guy on the 'Zine who had a 97 A4. Install wasn't too bad, and the back of my car is pretty damn stiff.

Unfortunately, the bar didn't show up in time for me to use at the Glen, but just from driving around the street, the car definitely dives right into the corners, very good upgrade for the money!
