My brake lights have been coming on by themselves for a day now and its driving me crazy because I just bought the car 2 weeks ago.
I called the dealer about service records on this car and there wasn't nothing electricaldone to it.
Then one service person said it was my brake switch down under the dash right above the brake pedal.
So now I have to check this out before my battery wears down.
Has any one had this problem before?

 

I've experienced this before, it is the brake switch and its a bitch to work on. When I was shopping for my A4 I found it in the dealership parking lot with the brake lights on. They fixed it and said it was the brake switch but they had to remove the dashboard to get to it or something. I dunno cuz it was still under warrenty plus I hadn't bought it yet.

 

If you only bought the car 2 weeks ago can't you take it back to the dealer?

 

the brake switch is a common problem with audi and vw. you dont have to take the dash out though just the kick panel under the dash
