Default Brake lines failure (pic)

For all of you B5'ers still sporting the original front brake flex lines you might want to inspect them closely the next time you're servicing your car. While doing the CV boot on my car today I discovered that the brake line was in very poor shape. Good news is that when I replace them the brake feel should be improved! Both sides of the front are bad, rears were ok.

You should upgrade to stainless braided lines while you're in there! Forced mod! Also (I'm sure you know this being a mechanical guy) PB blaster is your best friend on Audi brake lines. There are plenty of posts about trashing the hard lines trying to get them seperated.

PS - glad you saw it while under there. some brake lines and garage time are better than a crash. those lines look like they're one panic stomp away from causing you serious harm!
