My rearglass hasviewing distortions. Makes SUVs and Trucks behind melook like they are flat and jacked upabout 8 feet high. Kind of amusing

Maybe some local installer does the work for them, and they just get a cut for forwarding the work. One thing's for sure: I'd really like to take a look at the new windshield before they install it!

Sometimes becasuse we are swamped we have a company come out and do it.

This issue of windshields could be devastating to new car sales, if true. Certainly, I'd like to be sure the whole thing will be put to rest in the future (by Audi taking Quality Assurance seriously in this respect).I'd seriously like to consider the new S5 next year, which I'd pick up in Germany, but only if the windshield question isn't something I'd have to worry about.

Dang... we have an amateur telescope-making group in our Astronomy club, and they don't seem to have trouble creating ripple-free reflective mirrors as much as 16 inches across!

Who wants to bring a car home from Germany, and you already need a new windshield... perhaps you'd even need to get it fixed before leaving Germany!!! Ach! Du lieber!! [:@]
