Default Burning oil

I baby my car, change my oil every 3k. When i change my oil i usually put in 5 1/2 liters. At around 2500 miles my oil light keep going on. I did an oil change and as i did, i only got 2 liters after i emptyed it; out of oil from my 5 1/2 i put in. Luckly i have a warranty and its at the delaer now. i miss my baby but i get to drive my dads mercedes convertable to school. Cant wait to get her back. Hopefully i wont have any more problems after this. It had only 77,000k miles. anyone else have this problem of burning oil?

from what i've heard burning oil is a common occurance with audis and it's perfectly normal. i told my mechanic i have to add a quart every couple months and he says that's not unusual.

my girl has a 2.0 jetta and usually has to add 2-3 qts before her next oil change. shes had it in the dealer many of times for it under warranty and they say they do something but they really dont. the only way to fix something like that is to rebuild it or replace it. its gonna be a characteristic now

Yes audi's are notorious for burning oil. So dont worry just stay on top of it. When I bought my audi, I was worried as well, however the guys here and the dealer assured me that it is not uncommon for that to happen.

I don't know, my A4 1.8t with 100K miles burns absolutely zero oil between 5K oil changes.

Of course, that could be due to a plugged oil screen.

the service department in my area is cool, the guy asked me for all my maintenance and repair reciepts, which is required for recalls, i told him i only had a few reciepts (barely any) and he did the recall anyway without even seeing them. and he did it in about an hour while i waited...just thought i'd share one of the only good dealership experiences i've ever had.

I believe up to 1 quart every 1000 miles is ok by Audi.

That way they don't have to fix cars for burning oil.
