burning oil... somewhat urgent
My pretty car (on the outside) seems to be having some very ugly problems inside. I changed my oil less than 2k miles ago, full synthetic. Since then i've noticed my car's exhaust smokes ALOT more than normal. If I get out and smell the exhaust (smart huh) it doesnt smell like gas, it smells like burning oil. Its bad to the point where if I rub my hand on the back of my car, it comes away black from oil depositing on the trunk of my car. My tail pipes seem to "smoke" for at least 10 minutes after i turn the car off, and if i stick my finger in there it comes out JET BLACK.
Now i've become pretty knowledgeable with cars since browsing this forum. But this is completely beyond me. It is urgent because I am getting low oil pressure warnings very frequently and i'm worried about my car. Thanks

oil getting into the exhaust system could be valve stem oil seals and oil leaking past the valves into the cylinders so do and oil pressure test and and a compression test

bahh... anyone in the Portland, OR that could help me with this (oil and compression tests)?
I'm looking for what actually may be wrong and how much its gonna cost to fix my seemingly massive oil leak and comsumption problem.

Then run far away and hide your car from that garage. Compression test will tell you how well your rings are sealing. If the numbers are low, you may be pushing oil past the rings and burning it off (as your car's behavior suggests or implies). If your compression numbers are good (within the acceptable range, with only a few percentage points difference between highest and lowest), then the source of your problem is elsewhere.

this is kind of off the subject but would too much compression cause slow start? how would an engine get too much compression?

The extreme case of this is called hydrolock.
Carbon buildup could increase compression slightly, but not to that extent (as far as I know, anyway)
