Default Button behind driver seat frame ?

My friend asked me the other day when riding in the back of my car, 98 A4 2.8, what the button was for located directly behind the drivers seat, on the pillar/frame of the car. Anyone care to share what this is for b/c i have no idea ?

It's in the owners manual... I cant remember at the moment... I think its an interior movement sensor, possibly...that can be turned off (say if you left a dog in the car or something -- not recommended!) haha

I could be wrong though, read the manual, i'm positive its in there.
