Can D2S bulbs be used in place of D1S?

I thought the factory HID bulbs in our cars were D2S bulbs, but I have a box off of one of my HID lamps and it says D1S? Are they interchangeable? Or am I missing something? Also our fog lights are H11's right? Just checking now as I'm confused after seeing D1S... Thanks much!
