hi guys. i just bought a 96 A4 with 2.8L engine. Can I put an S4 twin turbo engine in the car or will it not fit? thanks so much!

 

it would be cheaper to sell the car and buy a real s4

 

this is wut u do. get a 3.0 crank. put ur 2.8 head on it and put a pair of gt2871s turbos on it. get it tuned get a stage 5 clutch and some moe supporting mods and ur looking at at least 600 horse. sound good? use the search engine on here. there was a guy who got flamed at by almsot evryone for asking the question ur asking.

C'mon guys, he asked a simple question. The answer is yes, it is possible. The 2.8 and the 2.7tt are the same block and the S4 and A4 are the same body.

 

Oh but the answer is NO! He would have to change the entire body to get all the turbo plumming just to fit, change the engine wiring harness, ECM, TCM, motor mounts, clutch (if it has one) spend about 15 grand just to get the motor swapped over, change the instrument cluster........so much stuff, the answer is its possible if you were a rich *** bastard that just wanted to make a sleeper for no apparent reason.

 

yeah, they bore out the s4 engines sometimes to 2.8 and 3.0 liters, but your fd for everything else

aren't they the same casting, only the 2.7 has slightly smaller cylinder bores to allow for more wall thickness between cylinders? the external dimensions of the block must be very close to the same, if not identical. audi would have to be retarded to design two entirely seperate V6's for the same chassis.
