Default Car is broken

Oil Sludge, out of the blue on my 1000 mile drive from Dallas Texas, to Phoenix Arizona.. I used synthetic "Royal Purple" every 3k, in the MIDDLE OF NO WHERE. Low oil pressure light comes on, we check the oil.. the oil level is EXACTLY how it was last night, the car is running properly, no over heating, perfect idle.. we turn off the air to go easy on the engine. We decide it needs to be taken for a full oil change, so we go back FORTY miles at 60mph going easy, to a place.. do a full oil filter/oil swap with synthetic and we move westward.. get another 300 miles with no signs of an issue what so ever. and boom. Car stalls, lucky my uncle was driving and we were between an offramp and a 1 lane highway with semis behind us, he slammed it onto the off ramp and coasted to "Las Cruces, NM" gas station, we made calls, and we were there for about an hour... note its about 7pm. We got AAA to take the car from the gas station down the road to a Volkswagon dealer where it would sit and be looked at on Monday (Note it was: Saturday) so.. it sits there for two days. We are now 65 miles outside of "El Paso" which is the closest location with rental cars avaliable, we had to go BACKWARDS AGAIN, in a shuttle... $60, at this point I had spent somewhere near $150 on gas, shuttle, oil, etc... It was HELL. So finally we get the car, (Mazda 5) and we go back to where my car is, pack it up.. put my audis key in a planting pot because they dont have a key drop off.. which is a insane move.. I like dug a hole and buried it. Then we moved on, arrived in Arizona at 1am.. and thats with GAINING two hours, and we left 6am TX time, so you can see what we went through. Turned a 15-16 hour trip into 20 hours, possibly longer.. something like that. So now my cars in Tucson and the fun begins.[:'(]

I have a 2003 Audi A4... I BABIED THAT MOTHER F*CKER AND IT DOES THIS TO ME. I always told myself, take the nessecary percautions and this will never happen to you. But it did, and I'm pissed and I just cant believe it. So hopefully audi will play nice, and work with me. I need this car, I'm living out in ARizona alone getting rides with friends. It sucks. SIGH SIGH SIGH

(End rant)

We had the cars past checked while sitting at the oil change place, it was clean.. it had been oiled properly at dealers from the beginning. My dad talked to an Audi dealer service manager he told us 9 times out of 10 its a sensor or the cars just being stupid. I thought it was that to, I didnt think this could actaully be happening. It ran perfect, nothing odd happened at all till its last breath. The car no longer starts....

I'm assuming you have the AMB engine (1.8)? My wife's 02 was an AMB engine and got more than regular oil changes and still flashed the oil pressure light and locked up with less than 40k (warranty did cover it). It makes you wonder what you have to do/not do to make sure those engines last? I hope Audi does work with you! They may offer you a great price if you'll trade up to a new model (the quoted 10k as the repair cost on our engine...). Good luck

Well, good luck to you.
Maybe sludge is not the problem.
You said it just stalled. Was it overheating, was the oil light on, was the engine smoking? Seems like if sludge was the issue, it would do more than just stall.
Hopefully its something less serious than sludge.

The engine ceased... it just turned itself off. The oil light flashed earlier..

The engine was NOT smoking,

It was not overheating, infact it was running PERFECT until the very second it turned itself off, and refused to start. Makes me sick.

By stall I mean, car turned itself off, car no longer turns on.. hardly even turns over. And doesn't come close to starting. I hope its sludge cause I don't wanna pay for this EFFING UNDESERVED MESS out of my own pocket.[:'(]

Makes me sick that I baby this thing more than I would my own child and it does this to me.. sigh. Don't even know what to think really, just don't see HOW it happened.

We were in the middle of no where, we played it super cautious, did all that was listed above and the car still let me down.. sigh[]
