i have a 99 A4 1.8t. when i try to step on the gas i can hear the turbo start to spool louder but the rpm stays relatively at the same level. i have no idea wut the cause is. im planning on going to an audi dealership sometime this week, but in the meantime i would really appreciate any advice. thanx

 

Don't take it to a dealership. Find a local shop that specializes in Audis.

 

almost sounds like your clutch is gone.

try this. crusing down a road at 30 mph(2nd or 3rd gear) put it in 5th and floor it. if the revs go up faster than the speed than your clutch is toast
