I was driving to work just now and my car dies every time I come to a stop, if I am not accelerating or it is not in gear it has a total loss of power.

I do not know what to do!?

Get scanned at autozone for fault codes. Could be a few different things.

 

WellI readmyCEL for codes about a week ago and all i got was P1128.

Im at work so i cant scan right now. .

I used to have 4 codes that mysteriously went away without me doing anything. I had a couple cylinder misfires and a system too lean code. I cleared them to see if they would come back and they never did.

Ironic because i believe P1128 is system too rich. . . and annoying because how can that make a car lose total power?

 

PLEASE HELP.

 

Maybe your can has a large vaccum leak and its dying when it comes to a stop? Can you hear a hissing type noise with the hood open?

 

Year, model and mileage would help some.

I put my money on a dirty throttle body. Get some throttle body cleaner and an old toothbrush and gently clean the throttle body.

 

i think its just probably a hose or a leak or something..

 

P1128 is a lean code, not rich. If it's dying at idle, it's a vacuum leak most likely. Or a boost leak.

How does it run when you step on it?

 

After a little highway driving yesterday it stopped losing power, it was idleing just fine. . . but its still running like ****.

It's acceleration is not good, and i still ahve that idle problem when it first starts in the morning for a minute or two. .

 

17536 P1128 System too lean.
