car shifts into triptronic w/o any resistance
hey guys im having a problem in my b5 audi a4 triptronic. whenever i go left my car automatically goes into triptronic mode. the shifter feels really loose. ive already changed the mat and i tried to look in the shifter to see if anything looked broken, but i didnt. anyone know what holds the shifter in drive please let me know
not familiar with tiptronic trannies at all but theyres probably some sort of stop that has broken inside the tranny. i know that when in park theres just a little metal lever lookin thing as wide as my thumb and about 1/8" deep and thats all that holds the car. so my guess is theres something like that which holds the shifter in D.
Yes it is a spring - I just checked it out in AESIS and thats what it looked like. best thing to do would be to take it in to the dealer or a local euro mechanic - don't know what the upper assembly of this spring will be. If you truly would like to know how to remove everything I will take the time to build you a proper DIY with diagrams and instructions but you'll have to ask nice
thank you buddy i would really appreciate it if you could or built me a DIY for this problem. i have been trying to fix this problem for a long time but no one had been able to truly help me. if you could do this i would appreciate it thanks
