Car is throwing 2 cells need advice
2000 A4 1.8t trip. with 70k miles and I have 2 cells:
16716-Knock Sensor2 9g66): Signal too Low, P0332-35-10--Intermittent
and
17536- P1128-35-00 (I dont have the full code becasue I havent bought the full version of Vagcom.)
My car seems to be in limp mode because I have alot more power if I clear the codes but they both came back after about 4 days.
I replaced my Spark plugs a few weeks ago could this be related to the 16716 code?
I bought a DV to put in this weekend thinking the other code could be that or a possible leak.
Thanks in advanced!

I had the 17536 code -Long Term Fuel Trim mult.,Bank1 System too Lean- a few weeks ago and a new maf cured it. I have 78k miles and know of others with 60-80k miles that have had to replace the maf. Maybe its time for you. MAF sensors dont just work then not. They get whacky and are sometimes hard to diagnose if you dont have vag com or have a pro check it out at a nominal fee... It could be a vac leak, 02 sensor or something that is restricting fuel, like injectors, fuel filter etc.
The knock sensor could be triggering the lean code though. The knock sensor has a lot to do with the timing of your engine, so if its bad, your timing could be advancing or retarding too much and you might run lean from that. Thats a pretty wild guess... But Id start with replacing the KS, or testing it with a multimeter since its the cheapest to replace of the two parts. Im pretty sure the knock sensor is under the intake manifold and there might be 2 of them accroding to this:
Oh and not "trip" Its tip=tiptronic.

Tip got it thanks
I have the cheap OBDtool that works with Vag com. How would I test the MAF? I will check out the KS sensors. You think they both should get replaced?
Thank again!!!
