I can hit the governor anytime I want. But the car REFUSES to go above it. I was coming down a fairly steep hill and had it buried, it hit 136 and felt like the brakes were applied. Just to test it, I turned around and tried it again, and the same. The car will not not go over its limit, even on a steep downhill. [:@]
Dude... you're so immature.

Seriously, chip that baby. I'd love to know if a chipped B7 could do 160 and you're probably in a position to find out before me.

where the heck do you guys go this fast and arent you afraid of tickets, if they catch you your screwed

I do it out in PA on 80 or 380 or the PennTPK, 84 isn't too bad in PA either. I've literally passed cops at 125-130, they won't chase you because you'd be long gone before they were able to catch you at those speeds in a crown vic, plus they handle like ****.

But they're starting to get Magnums and Hemi equipped cars.

I would love to chip it, but my wife wont let me get my hands on it long enough [&o] Besides, the only chip I have seen for it is "Local install only". Thats some serious shipping and handling charges!!

DAMN! 1115 just what turbo you running? lol jk

Hahaa, yeah perhaps my claimed speed was a bit....overstated :-) These days if I'm up past 50 mph, my winter firestones start getting way too loose. Can't wait to burn through the remaining tread on my Dunlops this summer

Now in terms of actually hitting 1115, drop a supercharger onto my 30v, then we'll talk...maybe an in-dash flux-capacitor for when i hit 88mph?

The power just backs off, pretty smoothly though. When my truck hits the govenor, it feels like I just ran over a honda or something. Very brutal.

Yeah, the mechanics of the speed limiter are totally different from those of the rev limiter. When you hit the speed limiter it basically just doesn't go any faster. Kinda cool, really.

The brutal feeling happening in the truck is at the speed limiter, not the rev. I just chalk it up to the latest German technology vs. almost 10 year old US tech.

I had no idea that the 1.8T Audi has a limit of around 130mph?

I have just had mine chipped () and was curious to see the top end capability. They say 146mph (235km/h) is reachable but I got only to 142.9mph (230km/h). Mind you this is with winter tyres so no doubt with my summer ZR rated tyres the top end will be met with no problem.

Please note that I don't ever drive to these crazy speeds but I wanted to see if the tuning company were spot on or not. The stretch of road I used was isolated without radors etc..so the only person at risk was me!

hahahaha

I have a nice quiet highway near me that is almost always empty late at night (Like 3-4am). It's almost completely straight and freshly paved (maybe 3-4 months ago). The only thing you really gotta watch out for (and I mean REALLY) is dear. You might think they're suicidal. Lucky for me the section of the highway closest to me is also close to another highway so not too many dear are there.
