Default Cat problems

sup all,

I just got a catalytic converter from audi parts direct: I got the 1.8t Cat converter and two of the gaskets off this site. http://www.audi-parts-direct.com/epc-items.asp. My mechanic is putting the stuff on and claims that it is going from a 2 inch down to a 3 inch and that the gaskets i order will not fit on the Turbo inlet. Have any of you guys replaced this thing and had problems like this? I need my car back for tommorow.... can someone please advise?!

I hate this garbage.
Anyone with moderate knowledge of automotive installations would know that what BadLuckAudi is saying is true.
For your mechanic to do the, "Gee-golly-whizz" thing while scratching his head and telling you it's gonna' run ya' a lil' extra to do it right......just plain sucks.

Tell him to use his brain OR stop trying to milk you for more $$$

Just my $0.02

so you think he is just buying time and money then huh? yes, the first thing he said to me is that i ordered the wrong cat. So i double checked the part number with him and the website, it matched, so i'm like "well that is the right one" make it work.... i just can't believe they would sell me gaskets that dont fit.... Is the exit gasket the same size as the inlet? I ordered everything to speculation.... thanks guys
