i dont think a 98 and up cd player would work on ur 97. When i went to get a new cd player i was told that 98+ where a 4ohm system and the 96 and 97 where a 10ohm system. this meant that if i wanted to get an indash cd player from audi or from most all after market makers i would have to rewire the ntire system. So a 6 disk in the back is almost ur only option anyway
