ok so my 01 a4 1.8t has been boosting from 16-18, but today all of a sudden it dropped and wont go past 5. and last night i got a check engine light. the car seems to drive the same, not a noticable loss in power at all. any ideas as to what it may be?

Pull the codes and post them here. Once the codes are cleared boost will be back. Ummm, it doesn't way what mods you have that you are boosting 16-18.
