is there any way to reset the ECU i got a check enigne light one night when i messed up down shifting into 2nd ther was noise such as grinding cause i did not push in the clutch all the way werid thing is the next night the cell/ check engine light went away. i was cool but then a week later it came back. thing is the car runs perfectly fine there is nothing wrong with it and all gauges are correct jw wondering if someone knew something ty

you need to get the car scanned for the code. Your downshifting is a highly unlikely reason, as CEL usually are triggered by emmissions related things. Go to autozone and get it scanned for free, and bring the code back. And yes you can reset your ECU by disconnecting the battery for a half hour or so. Make sure you have your radio code handy.

If you are referring to your ECU being chipped, yes, you still need a scan to get the CEL codes.
