changeover valve

i was wondering what a change over valve does and how it works.

just replaced mine with all new vacumpipes aswell, but im not sure if its ment to pivet when reving up.

It changes up about halfway through the rev range, changing the length of the intake pathway to optimize air delivery for power/torque.
