Hello --

My cigarette lighter doesn't seem to work anymore and I have a feeling it might be a fuse.

Does anybody know where the fuse box is and specifically which fuse I need to target?

The cig fuse is the one right under that one with the upside down 20 it blue and in teh middle with a 15 on it

 

I've changed my fuse a couple times and mine and they just keep burning out. There must be a short in mine but I have no idea how to fix that.

 

i dint know that was so you could stick your key in there.. i always just stuck flat head in to do the job..

 

Yep i dindnt know that either i got that pic off of google i always just used a flat head

 

i have a quick question about my cig lighter. my actually lighter works, but when i plug something in like a cell fone charger it dosent work, and the cell phone charger is good, what can b the problem?

I have the same problem in my 2001 a4 quattro 1.8T. My 12v cigarette lighter keeps blowing fuses when I use my GPS or charge my phone. I was battling a problem with an engine misfire, but fixed that with four new italian made ignition coils. (The ones from China are junk) Whenever my engine misfired, that would coincide with the 12v lighter socket blowing the fuse. The engine only misfired when I went WOT it at any RPM. So I thought that with the engine misfire problem gone, the 12 socket would not blow anymore. Well, it just blew after working for only an afternoon.

Anyone know what may be going on with a short somewhere in my car?

 

is this applicable to b6 a4s?
