Changing Oil?
Now, I'm used to doing my own work... But honestly, I don't care to work on the Audi at all. But out of curiousity, is changing the oil on these B6s a difficult task? Or should I just dish out the $35 and let the local VW Dealship do it?
umm well if i was rich like Bill Gates.. then yes i would probably pay somebody to change my oil.. but since i care about my car i do it myself.. its important to keep your eyes on things while your down there, and check for leaks, or anything out of the ordinary.. i also like to smell and feel my used oil.. maybe im just sick like that.. but like to know whats going on in the engine
It's the same as any car. You jack it up, take the belly pan off, and unscrew the drain plug, and out comes the oil. Then in with the new filter, in with the new oil, and you're done. My mechanic did it for free for me, since it was 10 degrees for an entire month after my Service:Oil light went on. I watched him do it. Took him 15 minutes from the time he drove it inside to the time it was off the lift.
