Default Check engine light

Hii all,

Since few days my check engine light is on, so I went to autozone to check whats the problem they run some test and found this code on their computer code “P0116”
‘this was the report given by them – the PCM has determined that the input from the engine coolant temperature sensor changed too little or too much for current engine operating conditions’

Is it possible for me to fix this sensor ‘if so could any one help me in this regard and where can I get this sensor’

Thanks,
Ram.

I love CEL. It tells you what is wrong with your car.

it is a small part that you can get it for $15 from ecs tuning.

It can be cheaper to depending on your MY (Model Year)

Its easy to replace...

Just look on the back of your engine.

Find the sensor.

Unplug the sensors wiring harness.

Remove the clip that holds the sensor on, pull towards the cabin of the car.

Pull out the sensor.

You will spill coolant , so you can put towels/something to catch that with.

Put new sensor in.

Repalce Clip.

Replace wiring harness.

Bada bing bada boom!

Hii InsaneHatter,

I checked it this afternoon, behind the engine there are many sensors and near to coolant there is one which is blue in colour, so do u think is this the one,

there are some other sensorw which are on the other side of enginer there are around 4 to 5 sensors but the first one i think is connected to coolant.

so shall i go ahead and buy it from ecstuning and also do u think it will be difficult in taking out the sensor because it is below coolant.

Thanks,
ram.
