When i blew a headgasket and had a intake manifold leak my car would shake like hell in low rpms and then smooth out in high rpms but that is pretty major so i dont know just a suggestion. Or maybe a sparkplug is off and in high rpm it doesnt even feel like its missing again just a suggestion

 

damn its getting serious...thank god im still in warranty (knowing the stealership, i can see them say THE WARRANTY DOESNT COVER THIS PART) or some BS

 

Definitely could be a vacuum leak. That would cause stuttering at low rpm. Hose loose or cracked, broken combi valve, etc... Have to be a bad leak for the CEL to pop on tho.

i just brought it from the audi service and it was the coil packs
supposedly all the 2003 audi's have an issue with the coil packs and even if the car is out of warranty, the coil packs will get changed at no charge (they had a recall i think)
so when the CHECK ENGINE light is flashing and you lose pretty all all the horsepower, the coil packs could very well be the issue

Im amazed they replaced something that is technicaly out of warranty... I think you got lucky.

 

well im still in warranty for another 1400 miles....but even if they were out of warranty they would change the coil packs for free only on the 2003s
b/c they had some issue with the 03's
