Chip a CVT?
hey bentframe, no use replying if you dont have an answer... still no definitive answer out there.. I heard that it wasnt recommended to chip a cvt, but I would still like more info, and I did do a search but there was not much said on the topic.
Hi Dnty,
I have a 2002 A4 1.8T CVT. I was in the same position as you are, a week ago.
There is some information on this forum, I have some treads already...

and probably more.
From the research I have done, you should be ok with a stage1 APR - GIAC (they have a cvt specific chip) or Neuspeed. But thats basically the most you can do to a CVT. Any more torque than what you get with these chips will put you in a danger zone ( for your tranny).
After some search I finally found a shop that knew what they were talking about and had actually installed chips for couple of CVT Audis. I have the APR Stage1 chip on my car and don't see any problems yet. (Its only been a week though).
