I'm pretty new to this and I'm considering putting a chip on my car. It's an 03 A4. I just want to know if I will keep all stock ECU functions such as fuel usage, avg. speed, etc. etc. Does upgrading the ECU change anything other then the power gain?

 

Shouldnt be, should maintain normal operating paramitors, woyld be stupid ot get chipped flashed and then not have anything work. especailly for the money u aer paying

 

It doesn't change any of those functions.

Thanks for the input, now for the follow up questions. Aside from the ECU upgrade I think I have to upgrade the diverter valve. What other things need to be upgraded when you get chipped? Also, is it easy to swap the ECU and DV? This is in case I consider buying the chipped ECU from somebody. Are the chipped ecu's specific to transmission type and if AWD or can you use then on any tranny, FWD, AWD?
