I've been enjoying my audi greatly, however, the more I visit this forum the more questions I start to ask about mine. I bought mine used, excellent condition, all service done and documented by audi. (It's a 2.8) However, when I got mine it already had clear corners and S4 taillights. I drove both my friends audis a 99.5 1.8T and another 98 2.8 and mine felt a bit faster, I then had both of them drive my car and they concurred. How do I find out if it has been chipped and or other various things. I can't get a boost gauge cuz it's N/a and the original owner died not too long ago (his brother sold it to me, knows squat about cars). I just want to know what are some key things that I can look for to find out.

 

open the hood up and just look for shiny/colorfull things or just take a detailed pic and posted it up here..

i doubt its chipped becasue a chip is supposedly a waste of money for the 2.8. only 10 ponies i think..

take pics of your car and the engine bay as well as shocks/spings.

What ive been told is to open the ecu to check for software stickers.

I am in the process of trying to find out what software i have so i started looking at other mods that have been done. Since i have an AWE tuning trans brace someone suggested GIAC. Im also in the process of contacting GIAC to see if they can check their database to see if my ECU # or VIN # is on file.

 

yea take a pic..... look on the ecu box for any stickers
