i looked at the times it says 0-60 for 1.8t is about 7.9-8.1 secs but for the 3.0 0-60 7.1-7.3 secs. if you chipped the 1.8t would it be able to beat the 3.0 or you think head to head???? suggestions

 

depends on if your quattro or fwd. if fwd i think u would. possibly could with quattro. and it also depends on drag skills

1.8T will smoke a 3.0
if you chiped 1.8T you will get about the same hp as 3.0 but you will have more torqe, plus you can do much more mods to 1.8T

 

not to mention the 3.0 is heavier due to the bigger engine...

 

I think it'd be pretty even..don't think the 1.8T would smoke the 3.0, but it could take it..so what's the torque on the chipped 1.8T? You're right in that its more than the 3.0 if its over 221 lb/ft. They're both sick cars..you're just looking at a little different goal/style/motive, etc. The 3.0 still has good power and torque and speed, just not nearly as much to mod, which sucks but ohwell..
