I just picked up my s4 a 2000 silver with siver alcantrs 65 k miles.Just got home and this thing flies i noticed it had hyperboost dv and some cat back not sure wich one.How can you tell if its chiped last owner was clueless he bought the car for his kid to find she cant drive stick so i got a great deal.

Did you notice that after purchase??? Anyways, I think you can have someone scan it with Vag-Com. You could also pull of the ECU cover, then pull out the ECU and look, but Vaging it is easier. There is a geographical database of people with Vag-Com;s that will help others out in scanning. Go search at audiworld.com--it's posted there every now and again.

or if your going to be modding by a boost gauge your over 12lbs then your deffinitly chipped.

If its got a ARP chip, hold the cruise control button in for 10 seconds and see if any light flashes on the dash.

That doesn't work if they have the security lockout feature enabled.

However, if it's an APR chip, any APR dealer should be able to detect it.

The quickest way would be to open up the ECU and inspect it. If there's a physical chip on it, post a picture, we'll be able to tell which one it is.

If it's the stock chip, then a boost gauge should be able to help narrow it down.
