Chips for a 2.8
i know exactly what you mean wickfu75,as you have prob.read, which i guess other people have not and keep trying to promote, fact guide by grouse makes very little mention to the 2.8,its mostly for the 3.0.i dont think anyone with a car of 60k+ miles on it is going to put in a supercharger.some people just have nothing better to do than harrass other people with non related engines and that is how they end up with 2000+ posts in a 6 month period.thats 11 posts per day guaranteed, and if a day is missed,22 the next day,and so on

You are a non searching/non advice taking/ignorant/noob peice of **** on the inside of the toilette bowl *** hole!

O i forgot, your face is (in the words of zedex) a giant cumdumpster too.
ok well anyways with the women bickering aside, wickfu Like I said a cai will help the flat spot as will a chip. If you wanna go all out get tip chip, chip, cai and exhaust. Im sure with all that the car will feel slightly quicker, but much smoother and no flat spot. To tell the truth though of the 2.8s I drove they felt more then enough power for my DD needs so the cheap route would be to get a k and n panel and mod the air box (if thats possible on a 2.8 air box.). DOing that alone made a noticable difference for my 1.8t and Im sure will do the same for your 2.8. IMHO Id go all out or just do a k and n and leave the car alone. Good luck in your choice and mod path.
The fact still remains... CAI or short ram.. Its going to take away low end power, and give a little extra on top. You might feel the throtle response is better from a stop, but thats all its good for down low. It will not give you extra power down low where most city drivers need/want it the most. A K&N pannel filter will be the best bet to increase flow and maintain good low end power. The 2.8 will deffinately resopond better to the box mod too since the engine bay temps arent as high as with the 1.8T. Your not gunna feel the sudden flat spot as much with the cai because the cai flattens you out from the get go.
And im not talking about all this out of speculation, i have experienced 2 of my own cars 4 cyl and 6cyl with both short and cai, and its the same affects.
